Job Description:

As our company continues its Finance Transformation journey, this role will be a highly visible and important leader on our Financial Shared Services (FSS) team and will work through our plant/DC network and stakeholders to simplify, standardize, and automate plant accounting activities while strengthening SOX controls.  The successful candidate will have the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders across the company and use those relationships to identify opportunities and lead process improvement.  This position will report directly to the Director of Accounting—Process and Control (APC).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and manage projects across plant accounting operations to improve productivity, improve SOX compliance, lower transactional costs, reduce plant/DC operating costs, achieve faster cycle times in Record to Report (RTR), reduce exceptions in Procure to Pay (P2P), and achieve excellence in cost accounting and inventory management
  • Support a metrics-driven culture to measure the effectiveness of plant accounting and control processes by tracking KPI’s and using dashboards
  • Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures (SOP’s, training materials, and exception documentation)
  • Develop and implement process enhancements around technology and performance
  • Assist the Controller’s and Supply Chain Finance teams with complex accounting issues involving plants and distribution centers
  • Develop and maintain a company-wide plant/DC compliance program with a goal of zero SOX deficiencies
  • Develop and participate in Control Action Plans to address any audit findings or process failures
  • Provide thought leadership to all we do in an effort to continuously move the Department forward

  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting, finance, and/or controls
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong process knowledge with the ability to identify root causes and champion solutions.
  • Financial acumen to include knowledge and understanding of internal controls (SOX/COSO), US GAAP, and financial shared services processes and procedures
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with stakeholders from multiple disciplines
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with the ability to deliver high impact results within a framework of ambiguity
  • Result/Outcome oriented and ability work with data to drive decisions
  • Strong PC Skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • 30% travel


  • Knowledge of SAP and ERP Experience
  • Manufacturing, Food, or Financial Shared Services experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree Required—Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or other business-related degree
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Certification (CPA, CMA, CIA designations will distinguish candidates)
