Job Description:

Office located in Oak Brook, IL. Position can be located remotely in the continental US.

The Director, Contract manufacturing is accountable for the strategic direction and management of assigned contract manufacturing business including revenue and margin objectives, customer performance vs plan (AOP delivery), and overall relationship at the Director / VP level.  The role possesses a strong knowledge of the contract-manufacturing industry and technical sales as well as end to end supply chain.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Contract Manufacturing VP and Division GM’s to create and deliver THS / Contract Manufacturing strategies to create growth.
  • Develops and executes strategies that identify/acquire new customers/business and deliver revenue/ margin growth objectives for assigned business and capabilities.
  • Responsible for the senior level customer relationships.
  • Owns overall business metrics and drivers including P&L (revenue, profit) and customer performance objectives.  Analyzes customer-supplier scorecard metrics and delivers on business improvements.
  • Builds deep customer and industry knowledge and sells the TreeHouse value proposition proactively to both current and potential customers.
  • Identifies whitespace contract manufacturing opportunities and develops plans to address opportunities.
  • Owns network customer-level forecast and delivery of AOP for contract manufacturing business
  • Negotiates strategic contracts and owns compliance to contractual agreements
  • Leads and develops Contract Manufacturing team (hiring, coaching, etc.).
  • Leads and develops individual and team capabilities and category/customer assignments.
  • Champions THS culture & values through team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of food industry business experience in contract manufacturing sales or related field.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of food manufacturing and supply chain.  Broader experience in supply chain, manufacturing, and/or development would be valued.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • Possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to develop innovative and creative solutions that result in higher profitability; ability to manage complexity in ambiguous situations
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and profit objectives
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • High comfort level with ambiguity and change
  • Strong negotiation capabilities
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills and effective relationship building skills
  • Excellent business analytical skills – use of data to drive product and pricing strategies, and their impact to production forecasts
  • Solid financial acumen - Understanding of P&L and price implications to optimize customer bid strategies and management of trade funding
  • Fluency in UNIFY, BI, SAP, SharePoint​, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer interaction
  • Strong management skills with demonstrated problem solving ability, skilled at multi-tasking and prioritization, and communication of AOP performance to stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
  • Strong cross-functional and team coordination skills
  • Collaborative work style capable of building strong internal and external relationships to achieve desired customer outcomes
  • Key Account Management experience with large or multiple accounts; ability to influence third party partners to achieve profitable results

Working Conditions:

  • Approximately 20-60% travel to various THS locations, customer appointments, industry events or other job related functions.
