Job Summary:

The Director of Order to Cash Finance (OTC) at TreeHouse Foods (THS) leads the Order to Cash process consisting of Accounts Receivable, Credit Management, Trade Promotion Accrual Management, Cash Application and Customer Domain teams. This role works in conjunction with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and additional Financial teams to ensure accurate OTC Finance activities.  This position reports to the Vice President – Finance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee OTC month end close including but not limited to: sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations, reserve analysis on allowance for doubtful accounts, cash discounts and broker commission accruals
  • Coach OTC team to achieve high performance and measure teams’ performance regularly through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain and enhance Order to Cash processing and procedures for each function in the revenue cycle and ensure staff adherence to such practices and policies
  • Lead the Accounts Receivable team to ensure a high level of collectability and monitor Trade Promotion Accrual management for proper balancing and customer P&L impact
  • Oversee establishment of customer terms of sale, risk assessment, sales on secured transactions including (export) standby/irrevocable letter(s) of credit
  • Create and implement controls, policies, and systems to ensure accurate and timely collections on all customer accounts
  • Lead credit decision making around customer financial risk tolerance
  • Ensure OTC processes and objectives are aligned with organizational strategies
  • Participate and engage Company acquisitions to integrate business into the THS systems platforms of SAP as well as work with Supply Chain on customers transitioning into the THS network
  • Credit Risk Management
    • Customer visits to above average risk accounts as needed 
    • Negotiate escalated customer collection activities
    • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with customers
  • Ownership of all processes and procedures within the department and drive improvements
    • Such as: credit management, establishing lines of credit, review of financial statements, performing collection calls
  • Complete review with internal/external audit team as requested
  • Responsible for OTC Finance personnel and planning related to hiring, training, performance management and budgeting in Shared Services environment
  • Effectively manage, enhance, and communicate all system changes that will impact our customers and internal stakeholders
  • Set performance standards to meet financial and service goals of OTC Finance
  • Review customer deduction trends with intent of reducing such expenses where applicable
  • Monitor trade promotion balances to ensure proper sales value representation
  • Act as a resource in resolving customer issues and problem solving in a professional and effective manner

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive finance or accounting experience
  • 3+ years of SAP experience preferred
  • Strong accounting/finance skills with a thorough understanding of bankruptcy laws
  • Excellent communication and reasoning skills with all levels of our business, both internal and external
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results
  • Ability to problem solve while coordinating projects, communicating changes, and monitoring progress
  • Strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal communication skills
