Job Description:

Located at our Headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, this strategic HR Leader will provide human resources support across three Divisions (Beverages, Meal Solutions, Baked Goods) which generate over 5B in annual revenue.  The role will partner with and support three Divisions Presidents who sit on the CEOs Executive Leadership Team.  Functions within the Divisions including General Management, Commercialization, and Research Development & Implementation will also be supported by this leader.  This leader will participate in the development of recruitment and retention strategies.  Directly handle employee relations, project management, assist in training and development initiatives, and the coordination of HQ wide HR initiatives.

This role will report to the Senior Director, HR – Corporate Functions.  This is a high-visibility role as the position interacts with multiple levels of the organization including senior leaders.

The ideal candidate will have spent time in both a manufacturing environment as well corporate, possess excellent communication skills, and have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple priorities. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Assists with talent management and succession planning projects including training and development for multiple functions.  Manage all aspects of employee relations; address employee concerns, conduct internal reviews, and implement the necessary resolutions or corrective actions.  Manage key HR processes; performance management, employee development, compensation planning (salary and bonus planning) and recruiting and retention of employees.  Proactively partner with managers to provide strategic advice and counsel in addressing employee and organizational issues.

Ensure compliance with TreeHouse Foods Affirmative Action Plans, SOX, FLSA, OSHA, all employment legislation, and other employment related policies and procedures.  Interpret human resource and company policies and ensures adherence to them.  Act as liaison between center HR and Divisions by assisting with rolling out new Company initiatives and communicating information relating to career development, recognition programs, payroll, benefits, training and staffing.

Provides day to day business HR partnership and consultation for assigned functional teams.  Provide coaching and advice to management on effective ways to administer HR programs and manage employee issues.  Participate in the implementation of approved employee relations' policies and practices, providing professional and technical assistance to functional leadership.

Assists in leading Human Resource programs within the assigned functions, including but not limited to, EEO, unemployment, retention, termination, turnover, and severance issues.  Partners with cross-functional

HR peers, HR centers of excellence, and other business support functions including but not limited to, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and Law.

Facilitate, in partnership with staffing organization and the business partners, recruitment pipeline for current openings, candidate selection, and future talent needs.

Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Skills, Experience and Education:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (List all required):

  • Experience with employment sourcing, communications, and human relations
  • Experience with benefits and compensation administration
  • Experience managing projects
  • Effective and deliberate communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change in a dynamic business environment as well as conflict management and mediation skills
  • Ability to develop strong consulting relationships and influence business leaders through coaching and partnership
  • Highly motivated, energetic, hands-on

Education:

 Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Human Resources or related field

 Master’s Degree Preferred but not required

Minimum Experience Preferred (Number of years and type):

Seven to ten years of progressive human resources experience.  Must have plant operations experience.

Proven leadership, independence of thought / action, and the ability to analyze complex problems from multiple perspectives will be critical to the success of the selected candidate.  Two to three years of supervisory experience is required.

The capacity and desire to partner closely with functional senior leaders as well as corporate management is critical.  Must be able to manage multiple priorities, produce excellent work results, and follow through on commitments.  A sense of urgency is required.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel to other corporate offices, plants, business meetings, and conferences.
