Job Description:
This role is primarily responsible for processing payroll and HR transactions for the facility, administering the facility’s group benefits plan, providing functional support for HR systems, performing administrative duties across the HR functional area, and providing employee relations support in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review all payroll input processes for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with Company policies and governance prior to transmission to THS Canada Payroll for processing.
- Forward supervisory overtime, safety shoe deductions/reimbursement, third-party payments, and direct deposit information to THF Canada Payroll for processing.
- Complete pay period close operations in Kronos for payroll processing, review final reports for accuracy, and coordinate manager approval and submission to THF Canada Payroll.
- Review payroll registers to identify and resolve issues prior to payroll processing.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements and corporate SOX requirements.
- Administer and maintain the Kronos time and attendance system.
- Provide system training, and guidance in terms of inputting, best practices, and company policies
- Process HR, payroll and group insurance benefits in Workday including enrolments, changes, and terminations.
- Administration of the group insurance benefit and RSP plans including troubleshooting related issues.
- Handle and resolve all inquiries arising from questions about payroll, vacations, the group insurance benefits, and RRSP’s
- Create and maintain employee and HR files. Collecting information as required.
- Assisting in the administration of employee relations matters on a day-to-day basis.
- Issue ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Performance of assigned HR tasks/duties in support of the HR functional area.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills
- Completion of post-secondary education in an HR-related field and a working knowledge of HR-related legislation.
- Three years related work experience in Human Resources / Payroll.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll and time & attendance systems, preferably Workday and Kronos respectively.
- HRIS systems knowledge and experience essential. Workday experience an asset.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with the capability to interact effectively with employees, other departments, and the corporate group.
- The ability to work effectively in a change-filled environment and to multi-task with frequent interruptions is essential.
