Job Description:
MAIN DUTIES:
- Set up, Start up, disassemble, reassemble and operate machine during production
- Continuously inspects machine for safety concerns and appropriately addresses the concern
- Ensures that product specifications are being achieved (i.e., weight, height, length, color, SQC, SPC, Mixim, temperature, and product specific quality checks)
- Must be able to complete are necessary line documentation required for each product.
- Notifies appropriate personnel if there is a problem (e.g., with the line, any safety concerns, mechanical, or quality issues, etc.)
- Trained and Validated to pre-scale all ingredients in area of responsibility including toppings, fillings, etc.
- Accurately and thoroughly completes all required paperwork
- Adjusts machine parts when running different products
- Safely cleans machine and work area during shift, at changeovers and at the end of shift
- Participates in and/or leads Lean (5S, Autonomous Maintenance) activities.
- Ability to read playbooks and run according to playbook.
- LOTO authorized
- Pallet Jack Certified
- Trained and Validated to make any and all products in department including levain and other specialized ingredients.
- Forklift Certified
- Trained and validated to perform sanitation tasks
- Inputs programs for specific products being run
- Performs other assigned duties as required
- Trained and Validated to Train and mentor operators in area of responsibility
SAFETY AND QUALITY:
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and all other food safety requirements
- Complies with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) requirements
- Reports any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to the Lead or Supervisor
- Be able to safely lift items from 10-50 pounds – boxes, scrap bins, garbage bins
- In certain positions may be required to lift heavier items 30-50 pounds – bags of flour, buckets of ingredients, corn syrup
- Certification required for operating Pallet Jacks, Fork Lifts, Lock-out Tag-out
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Some positions require working in cold conditions when dealing with frozen products or working in freezers and will require additional protective clothing
- Some positions will require working in very hot conditions when dealing with products going into and out of ovens and will require wearing protective gloves
- Some positions will require working in elevated platforms up to 12ft high.
- Most positions are located in areas with loud noise and will require the employee to wear protective ear plugs
- Other conditions include flour dust, wet floors, occasional smoke and fumes if bread burns, occasional fumes from cleaning chemicals (ammonia)
- Work with pressurized air and water approximately 10% of the time.
- Chemical Handling/Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) approximately 5% of the time
SCOPE:
- These positions have no supervisory responsibilities
- Daily interaction with the Line Workers, Team Leader and Supervisor
- Works according to standard instructions/procedures and informs Team Leader or Supervisor of problems
- Bi-lingual employees may be called upon to translate meetings, instructions or other information
