Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic supports the maintenance department.  This position is under the direction of the Lead Maintenance Mechanic and is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance skills.  Our maintenance mechanics are viewed as an active supporter of lean and preventative maintenance systems.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to the Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, rebuild, adjust and maintain machinery and equipment used in production which may also involve the dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts.
  • Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment.
  • Will have the knowledge and ability to follow and work from blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions and/or written work orders with minimal supervision.
  • Will perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Will keep legible and accurate maintenance records.
  • Will understand, sign and conform to written power lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Will read and follow verbal and written instructions and company-posted work and safety policies, procedures and programs.
  • Must have the ability to operate proficiently in an SAP environment; including but not limited to using an RF (radio frequency) device, print and place tags, and able to effectively use a scanner and related portable equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC’s


Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical drive/ control systems relating to production and facilities equipment maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Strong mechanical skills used to trouble-shoot equipment is required.
  • Be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision and have good organizational skills.
  • Having an understanding or be willing to learn Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work required shift, meet attendance requirements, and work overtime when required.
  • Ability to walk short distances.
  • Ability to hear sound alerts of equipment.
  • Considerable mental and visual effort.
