SCOPE:

Manages staff of 2 Production Supervisors and indirectly manages staff of approximately 20 FTE and 15 temporary employees across a 24-hour operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in the management of plant production activities for all shifts
• Maintains and enhances the site’s Safety First culture
• Helps to develop, improve, and train Production Supervisors and associates on GMP and other food safety initiatives
• Trains and develops a staff of direct reports through regular performance reviews and developmental activities to ensure movement toward a high performance / high engagement organization, while assuring effective departmental performance
• Utilizes available data to continuously improve plant KPI’s (Labor budget, yields OEE, etc).
• Utilizes the above information as a tool to make recommendations for improvement to the operation.
• Reviews, audits and makes recommendations on the development and establishment of standard operating procedures and work instructions for the production team. Assists with proper training and implementation throughout all production areas
• Assists with leading daily and weekly performance review meetings
• Assists in capital project development and implementation
• Serves as a member of the plant leadership team in support of plant goals
• Fills in as needed to cover production supervisors
• Coaches and leads CI efforts for site production
• Drives improvements and maintains site adherence to the TreeHouse Manufacturing Operating Structure (TMOS)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages Production Supervisors and hourly production employees; is responsible for the general direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with TreeHouse policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Operations, Engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Preferred five years of production supervision and/or management experience, preferably in the food industry
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Preferred experience with SAP
• Competency in English language (read, write, speak); excellent written, oral, and listening skills.
• Working understanding of FDA, OSHA, and EPA
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Strategic thinker
• Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines
• Time management and prioritization
• Work with cross-functional teams to meet goals of plant
• Preferred knowledge of CI methodology including DMAIC, Six Sigma, PDCA or other

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk, taste, and smell.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
