Job Description:

The Lancaster Ready-to-Eat Cereal Plant, a TreeHouse Private Brands site, is currently looking for a Supervisor, Production to join our team.  This is an opportunity to join a recognized and growing company within the food manufacturing industry.  We are offering a competitive compensation package for this position, including benefits (health, vision and dental) and 401(k). The Supervisor, Production reports to the Manager, Operations and is Integral part of the plant team.

The Supervisor, Production leads team members to identify, manage, and execute the plant’s process improvement opportunities. Manages production staff to attain production and quality goals. Identifies problems in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment, planning and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team oriented work force in order to improve business results.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for directing the activities of the production area in order to maximize productivity, quality and GMP expectations.

  • Plan and assign work to production teams to attain production, GMP, quality, safety goals and sanitation goals.
  • Establish and control procedures to meet production schedules, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, and processes utilizing Continuous Improvement methods.
  • Ensure proper staffing, training, motivation, and safety of Team Members.
  • Interplant communications (Phone and written communication, meetings)
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions including promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures, etc, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Build teamwork by providing motivations, leadership and training. 
  • Be flexible in leading change initiatives and take the lead in special projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Adequate vision and hearing
  • Advanced problem solving and decision making

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, secondary education a plus.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organization skills.
  • Previous experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work weekends and/or shift work with strong work ethic and employment history.
  • A self-motivated individual that is ability to multi-task and lead others.
