Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Quality staff in day to day operations as to assure and prevent quality problems as well as maintain effective procedures to solve quality problems when and if they arise.
  • Support and assist Quality Manager in the inspection and evaluation programs of raw materials, in process materials, finished goods.
  • Assist in proving technical assistance and developing programs for Quality Assurance Packaging Line Inspections.
  • Provides direction and guidance in chemical, microbiological and analytical testing for raw material, semi-finished material, packaging material and Finished product.  Leads testing program within the quality control department.
  • Support and assist in performance appraisals, development plans and disciplinary actions for the quality control department
  • Manage weekly schedule and payroll activities for the quality control department
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving problems
  • Implements various components of quality assurance program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, tracking, product assessment and quality technology.
  • Directs inspection of hardware and systems audit to ensure proper application of management system procedures
  • Responsible for raw material, in-process and finished goods quality inspection.
  • Support and assist in all activities related to the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, HACCP-FOOD SAFETY, Customer Complaints, FSMA, Net Contents, Sanitation and FOOD Defense programs.
  • Work with the constant philosophy of continuous improvement, personnel safety and food safety.  
  • Support, Adhere to and participate in all corporate and plant safety initiatives.
  • Works cohesively and proactively with all departments and plant/corporate employees toward ongoing improvement of Quality systems.
  • Ensure that quality and regulatory requirements are in compliance and adhered to at all times throughout the facility. (USDA, FDA, NYS ag and Markets, CFIA, RSPO and Treehouse corporate regulatory)
  • Participate and take the lead in all customer. Co-manufacturing and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure timely and efficient follow-ups to all customer, co-manufacturing and regulatory audits and by ensuring non-conformities of audits by developing and putting in place and carrying out action plans.
  • Train and support plant personnel in Quality system initiatives and protocol.
  • Direct and lead customer complaint program.
  • Support all departments in the administration and compliance of the SQF, HACCP, FSMA, REGULATORY, KOSHER, ORGANIC, RSPO and FOOD Defense programs.
  • Support the Quality and Sanitation department in technical and administrative tasks.
  • Comply and adhere to all plant policies and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements-Skills:

       Technical and Soft Skills(required):  

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and business-related software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to be self-directed-multi-task, organize, plan, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written skills, able to develop and conduct training
  • Good understanding of quality control processes and manufacturing processes related to the food or beverage industry.
  • Previous experience motivating, leading and engaging teams.
  • Energetic, flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • HACCP and SQF experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP’s (good manufacturing practices)
  • Kosher, Organic, RSPO, FSMA, SQF, HACCP, USDA experience desired.
  • Net Contents experience required.
  • Microbiological and analytical experience required.
  • Results driven with high personal ownership. Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Positive Attitude (Initiative), Reliability, Professionalism.
