Principal Responsibilities:

Plan, direct, control and evaluate a maintenance staff of 17 employees to maximize production capabilities in the areas of quality, cost and customer service.

Fully utilize Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to:

• Process maintenance work orders to best utilize maintenance labor for a two-shift operation
• Schedule preventive maintenance to extend equipment life expectancy
• Control parts inventory and costs

Direct resources to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA and the FDA.

Drive R&M cost savings and track cost savings initiatives. Implement management goals and assigned tasks.

Evaluate and implement training procedures such as in-house, vendor-sponsored, and training seminars.

Daily / Periodic Tasks

Work with Maintenance Planner to manage outside contractors as needed for specialized repairs such as refrigeration, Production equipment , forklifts, alarm systems, utility systems, etc.

Drive cost savings through continuous improvement initiatives such as predictive maintenance

Provide guidance on  troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to increase production efficiency.

Participate in daily planning meetings with the management team.

Conduct periodic meetings with maintenance staff outlining tasks, safety concerns, etc.

Participate in the creation of annual maintenance and capital budgets.

Conduct periodic audits, to include maintenance work performed
