Job Description:

This role has program responsibility and daily consult on compensation matters within the business.  This role manages compensation programs and drive their execution.  Specific areas of responsibility include leading the annual merit process, the annual bonus process, job evaluations, and leading the Compensation module design, system update and configuration within Workday.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the base pay structure ensuring market competitiveness & internal consistency; recommend adjustments to meet business needs. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to support compensation and compensation-related analysis and to assess the effectiveness of compensation programs.
  • Manage and execute on annual merit, annual bonus and LTIP programs that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation best practices and support business objectives.
  • Provide guidance to HR Business Partners and business clients on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Market price all jobs to determine pay grade, title & FLSA status.
  • Manage the salary survey library; conducts and participates in compensation surveys or special compensation studies for purposes of maintaining the company’s competitive position within the market place.
  • Develop and maintain internal compensation tools for HR, people managers and employees.
  • Develop, administer, and communicate special incentives in support of business initiatives, ensuring a thoughtful approach to deliverables and rewards.
  • Manage all compensation compliance activities; monitor, develop and implement appropriate processes which meet federal, state and local guidelines.  
  • Serve as the compensation partner with the HRIS team to update and maintain the compensation module within Workday
  • Participate in various compensation-related projects which involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs. This includes high-level project management, partnering with appropriate internal and external resources, and ensuring that projects are on- time, while achieving desired goals and objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field required
  • 7 years of Human Resources experience
  • 3 years of compensation development and administration experience
  • Strong communication and consulting skills
  • Deep analytical skills; ability to analyze large amounts of data and develop sound recommendations
  • Strong Excel skills required (lookups, pivot tables, formula development)
  • Strong project management and process development skills
  • HRIS system agility (Workday Preferred)


Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Food Science, Nutrition or related
