Job Description:
Purpose of Position: Participates in creating and implementing training programs following the TMOS systems in order to strengthen and build the TMOS foundation. Leads efforts to establish a culture where learning is part of the daily plant activity.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Interpersonal skills: requires collaborating with instructors, trainees, and subject-matter experts
- Instructional skills: use a variety of teaching techniques and sometimes must adapt their methods to meet the needs of particular groups
- Analytical skills: Evaluate training programs, methods, and materials, and choose those that best fit each situation.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems (PDCA mindset)
- Ability to mentor and train others
- Ability to use learning management systems (Alchemy)
- Ability to analyze data
- Comprehensive understanding of production processes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role’s primary responsibility is to follow a standardized approach to: (1) Identify and document the skills needed for a specific job or role. (2) Develop and document a validation checklist to ensure training has occurred. (3) Identify gaps in training and (4) Lead the transfer of knowledge to machine operators and other plant roles once the framework and structure of job processes is established. This role will:
- Works closely with subject matter experts to learn the operation of equipment (including theory of operations, changeovers, and troubleshooting)
- Works closely with subject matter experts to learn the critical concepts or methods that will be transferred to employees using a variety of learning solutions.
- Able to conduct job-task analysis
- Engages with production supervisors, leads and other plant leadership to understand gaps in training
- Establish base operating skills to effectively support the sustainability of the production team
- Develop skills inventory and element trees for operating all equipment in each production lines
- Build and execute training plans that support the needs of the business
- Prepare and present reports on training program effectiveness (training KPI reporting)
- Implement training KPIs
- Prepare and deliver training solutions in a variety of formats (OJT, coaching, classroom)
- Develop individual, shift, and monthly scorecards
- Develop validation checklists for each job/role
- Create Standard Work Instructions, training curriculums, and agendas for all production lines
- Develop standardized training for plant resources such as trainers, validators, mentors and auditors
- Work with Project Manager to prioritize training and development needs
- Create and maintain framework for document control of Standard Work Instructions program
- Train Machine Operators to become validators for their line
- Review training materials from a variety of vendors and choose appropriate materials
- Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure they are current and effective
- Work closely with Production Supervisors, Leads, Managers to understand training gaps
- Availability to work off shifts as needed
- Other duties as assigned
