Director of Sales will have responsibility for the strategic direction and management of a specified channel within TreeHouse Foods, with primary responsibility to manage the customer relationship and delivering against customer/channel-supplier metrics.  The Director of Sales will partner with cross-functional groups across the customer organization to expand the current business and develop new revenue opportunities. The Director will provide the highest level of service to the customer and will provide the leadership critical to the execution and achievement of revenue and profit objectives. The Director will provide leadership and direction in order to develop the Customer Business team. The Director, Customer/Channel Sales, will champion THS culture & values through their team and communicate customer and channel priorities and issues to their counterparts in the divisional organization.

NOTE: The role will call on East Coast customers, so flexible to the area, as long as it is in the Northeastern or Mid-Atlantic U.S.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Accountable for customer relationship(s) & development
• Responsible for delivery of revenue objective
• Understand divisional needs / priorities and communicate those with CBM team, helping prioritize as needed on how and where to execute across customers in line with customer and channel plans
• Work closely with Divisional Commercial Planning to leverage category subject matter expertise
• Work closely with and report directly to VPs to implement TreeHouse strategies and create customer/channel specific strategies for growth
• Lead and develop CBM & team capabilities and category/customer assignments
• Serve as primary interface with division / category leadership (unless necessary to escalate)
• Manages customer and CBM behavior effecting customer P&L performance (terms, deductions, trade, distressed, mix, merchandising)
• Manages and improves CBM forecast ​
• Accountable for customer/channel performance vs. plan (revenue & margin), full customer/channel and P&L ownership​
• Influences customer-supplier scorecard metrics messaging and metrics internal/external ​
• Delivers on forecast accuracy​
• Align on communication efforts with the following key stakeholders:
• Customers- Directors, Replenishment, Buyers as needed
• CCO Organization- VPs: Communicate and execute THS strategies and customer-specific growth strategies; CBMs: Lead mentorship, check-ins
• Other THS stakeholders- GMs: Align on customer and category priorities; Div. Communication Planning: Align on forecasting, subject matter expertise

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience and knowledge of manufacturing and the food Industry
• Minimum 5 years of supervisor experience
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork and analytical skills
• Proven ability to develop innovative and creative solutions that result in higher profitability; ability to manage complexity in ambiguous situations
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding budgeted sales and profit objectives
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
• High comfort level with ambiguity and change
• Excellent sales and problem solving skills; strong negotiation capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• IRI, SAP- BI experience a plus

Education:   Bachelor’s Degree – Type:  Business, Finance, or related field

 Working Conditions:

• Approximately 20-60% travel to various THS locations, customer appointments, industry events or other job related functions.
