This position is part of the EHS & Risk Management Department and will be responsible for building and supporting the department management systems and risk management tools to support Environmental Affairs, Health and Safety, Business Resilience, Risk Insurance and Security programs and strategy. This role will be engaged with multiple groups and individuals cross the organization with the goal to ensure effective processes and tools across sites, divisions, functions and corporate.  These systems are the foundation to support successful execution of programs and systems in accordance with legal and company standards to drive continual improvement and an incident free work environment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead in the development, integration and execution of policies, programs, procedures, standards, training, processes and actions throughout the business organization to drive EHS vision, mission, policy and strategies.
  • Project management in relation to the creation of new processes or systems including creation of project plans, management of timelines and implementation.
  • Establish and maintain document control activities at the corporate level for all EHS functions.
  • Lead teams to identify internal gap analysis process related to current and ongoing system functionality and creation of gap analysis reports with potential solutions.
  • Manages contracts and expectations of external system vendors.
  • Lead in the internal gap analysis process related to current and ongoing system functionality and creation of gap analysis reports with potential solutions. 
  • Direct the development of the global and governance process for “Train the Trainer” applications, LMS systems and the EHS corporate training material. 
  • Organization and delivery of awareness and training sessions related to business partners.
  • EHS Lead in co-ordination with CI function to identify continuous improvement applications and process for EHS & Risk Management.
  • Development and owner of the EHS & Risk Management metric reports in relation to key leading/lagging indicators, regulatory compliance and internal standards.
  • Implementation of data vetting/correction processes regarding individual and 3rd party data feeds.
  • Creation and interpretation of metric reports in relation to key leading/lagging indicators, regulatory compliance and internal standards.

Job Complexity

  • Needs to build collaborative and productive working relationships; network with and appropriately involve key internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of company-wide compliance assurance programs.
  • Participates in continuous improvement actions, programs or processes on compliance assurance, incident prevention, injury prevention, pollution prevention and other EHS performance indicators.
  • Assists in the creation, organization and communication or prudent practices to continuously improve compliance and management effectiveness.
  • Follow up with individuals at the site or corporate level to assist in ensuring data is reported timely and in accordance with protocol specific guidelines;
  • Act as a resource to clarify inquiries regarding systems and processes. 
  • Create documented processes and procedures related to the management of information system at all sites; including system changes, upgrades, training and new implementations.
