Food Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description:


  • Lead the quality control/assurance practices and procedures in accordance with agreed upon company parameters to maintain 100% product safety and product consistency
  • Manage the quality process as specified by HACCP requirements
  • Oversee the implementation and compliance of all food safety and quality standards including HACCP, SOP’S and GMP policies and procedures
  • Create written quality control standards for all products (Standard Operating Procedures) including establishing regular testing parameters on raw materials through finished goods
  • Verify certificates and perform testing for all incoming raw materials/WIP/Finished Goods
  • Perform statistical analysis for regular reporting on raw materials/WIP/Finished Goods
  • Lead Internal and External Audit Programs, including knowledge and experience with current GFSI audit guidelines and requirements to ensure plant compliance (BRC preferred)
  • Review and approve required paperwork and documentation created by the various departments: production, warehouse, maintenance
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventative measures to improve product safety and quality standards
  • Define and maintain a Supplier Quality Program
  • Facilitate and monitor Non-conformance requests
  • Perform statistical analysis for regular reporting on customer complaints
  • Facilitate and monitor Corrective Action Plans
  • Team Member of the Continuous Improvement Program
  • Hire and supervise Quality Control Technicians
  • Maintain an awareness of new and emerging methods of quality control in area of quality assurance in the manufacturing/beverages industry and related regulatory requirements and ongoing changes

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science is preferred or a science related field such as Chemistry, Microbiology or Biology
  • Experience working in a Quality leadership role in a food manufacturing/ packaging environment
  • Minimum of 5-year experience in Quality roles, both Lab as well as Plant environments
  • Experience in a registered environment
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP and applicable regulations governing food production including FSMA.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of HACCP and FSMA programs
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining food safety programs
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Critical thinking and analytical capability
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
