The Forklift Operator’s primary responsibility is to perform all phases of work of providing materials to the line and taking the product away to warehouse in a safe, quality, and efficient manner, while ensuring quality and food safety standards are being met. 

To perform jobs successfully, the incumbent will be required to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.  The company reserves the right to modify, delete or add to the essential functions for the Maintenance position at any time.

• Follow all safety standards for associated work areas, report incidents/near misses, and proactively identify hazards                                                                                                                                                                    
• Follow all GMPs
• Must be dependable and have good attendance record.
• Drive a fork truck safely and efficiently, also filling out required safety inspection report.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Keep work area clean and presentable.
• Be able to fulfill duties in any of the production and warehouse areas including, but not limited to – picking materials for the production lines, bringing materials to the lines, receiving product off of the lines, locating product to the warehouse, labeling product for the appropriate location when deployed.
• Work in other departments as assigned.
• Perform all transactions accurately and efficiently in SAP.
• Responsible for reporting any food safety or quality issues to Supervisor as well as the following specific duties involving food safety and quality:
  • Assure proper product rotation.
  •  Maintain 100% accuracy with all transactions.
  • Strive to eliminate product and packaging damage.
• Perform any other duties as directed by any member of the Kenosha management team.
• Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift

Qualifications:

• Forklift Certification required and ability to maintain the certification
• Demonstrate efficiency in working with SAP
• Two to four years forklift experience in manufacturing is preferred
• Must work well in a team based environment and demonstrate leadership ability
• Ability to quickly learn HACCP and GMPs is essential
• Exhibits Safe Behaviors

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail required.
• Exhibit personal accountability for quality of work and attendance
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead and support multiple projects. 
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow written policies, programs and SOP’s.

Education:

 High School or equivalent

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and use hands and fingers.  This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.

• On and off forklift/driving 90% of a 8-12 hour shift
• Ability to climb onto and get off the forklift regularly

• Will walk/stand throughout the shift and be able to use both hands, twist, bend, stoop, reach and maneuver in tight or cramped areas.
• Will climb stairs, ladders, equipment scaffolding, tanks and heights to 50 feet.
• Will push/pull/lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Will use one or both hands to hold, grip, and use tools required for duties, including but not limited to a utility knife.
• Will hear and talk on an ongoing basis in an atmosphere of moderate and loud noise.
• Will work in and around cold water or hot water up to 185° F.
• Will work in cold, warm, hot, humid and/or wet conditions.

Within the work environment, the employee’s physical condition must be such that the employee can wear:

• Hearing protection.
• Head protection.
• Steel-toe slip resistant footwear.
• Eye protection when required.
• Hand protection when required.
