Job Duties & Tasks:

1.  Use of the Machine Operator’s Handbook

2.  The MO handbook is a vital tool to the Machine operator and should be used daily as any questions arise.

3.  Campbell Wrapper Set-Up

4.  Doboy Wrapper - Model "J" and Super Mustang - Line Two

5.  FMC WA-520 Wrapper - Line Three

6.  Splicing film

7.  Markem Smart Date Coders

8.    Changing the ribbon:

9.    Moving the date code location on the film:

10.  Label Aire label machines (portable)

11.  Quandrel Labelers (New Campbell Wrappers) These labelers are controlled by a separate Quandrel control box and through the PLC of the wrapper itself

12. Metal Detectors - The metal detectors are operated by a on/off switch located on the side of each unit. Any adjustments must be made by a mechanic.

13. Check Weighers

14.  Box tapers - Line three 3M Matic.

15.  Bel Snap Folder - lines one and two

16. Case Erectors - lines one and two

17.  Columbia unitizers - all three lines

18. Blue Print case packer - lines one and two

19.  Print table and print heads:

20.  Proper lock out/tag out procedures must be followed when required.

Miscellaneous:

  • Going from product to product – counting boxes is a key item when changing product.
  • Case count – very important.
  • Knowing when to cut the dough in case of a die, flavor, base, or product size change is also important.
  • Cookie run-out
  • PPC & Flexo film roll counts are to be done on straight runs, usually twenty units or more.
  • Keep area clean, swept and clutter free
  • Properly fill out Machine Operator Procedure For Wrapper Clean Up sheets for all change overs.
  • Restocking supplies
  • Assisting other personnel as needed or directed
  • Any reasonable job or task assigned by your lead person or supervisor.

Authority:

Operating and making adjustments to all equipment outlined above Gathering times and notifying supervisors when it is necessary to change or stop production of a product

Basic skills required:

Locating information Applied mathematics Reading of information Teamwork Listening Effective communication - both written and verbal Some mechanical and troubleshooting skills Pallet jack/hand truck certification Basic knowledge of PLC`s.
