Summary

Troubleshoot, maintain and perform repairs on industrial production and facilities: electromechanical

equipment and controls; AC/DC motors single/three phase up to 600v, Milling,

lathes, grinding machines, fans, chilled water systems, blowers, variable frequency drives

(VFD), Ammonia refrigeration, Boiler operators, scrubbers, instrumentation, plumbing, waste

water system (DAF), vibration analysis and various other mechanical, electrical and building

systems in such manner as to ensure optimal customer relations. Ability to work 10 to 12 hour

shifts that include weekends.

Responsibilities

 Self-starter ability to apply knowledge to current situations and do the safe/right action

 Responds in a professional, polite and helpful manner when dealing with customers.

 Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), repair and maintains all equipment including air

handlers, chillers, ventilation, Cranes/hoists, etc.

 Performs other tasks as instructed including, but not limited to, painting, plumbing,

lighting, filter changing, light construction, welding, machining, grinding and assisting

other trades as necessary.

 Thoroughly and accurately completes paperwork and prepares reports.

 Assists in emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours.

 Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly and safe condition.

 Learns, understands and complies with fire, safety, food safety, LOTO and other

emergency practices. Informs supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe.

 Learns, understands and complies with all ABM and customer policies.

 Electrical journeyman license or equal is preferred, Refrigeration and A/C is a plus.

 Lean Manufacturing knowledge is preferred

 Five or more years of experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and systems.

 Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used in building maintenance.

 Excellent troubleshooting skills.

 Ability to keep simple records of activities performed and complete basic reports.

 Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.

Minimum Educational Requirements

 High School Diploma or equivalent.

Essential Functions

 Will read, write, speak and communicate efficiently in English with a wide variety of

 Will read follow verbal and written instructions and company-posted work and safety

policies, procedures and programs.

 Will follow all safety rules and regulations, perform all duties in a safe and efficient

manner, and wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited

to safety shoes and hearing protection in designated areas.

 Will conform to all good manufacturing practices and be responsible for the cleanliness

of immediate work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the facility.

 Will have adequate vision ability (depth perception and field of vision) to move around

the facility safely and distinguish colors.

 Will work in all areas of the facility, both inside and outside, and on all floors in the

facility.

 Will work any shift, overtime, holidays and weekends as production requires.

 During periods of downtime, will consult with working leader or supervisor for

assignment of job duties to be performed.

 Will communicate concerns/issues/problems to supervisor/co-workers in a timely and

professional manner.

 Responsible for recognizing and reporting food safety and/or quality issues to supervisor

and/or manager.

 Will possess and maintain a good attendance and work record.

 Will lock out and tag out any equipment as required for repair and/or internal cleaning.

 Will train employees coming into the classification of all duties that are required of this

position.

 Will assist and/or train with others when needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Physical Requirements

 Will walk/stand for the duration of up to a 12-hour shift and be able to twist, bend,

stoop and reach.

 Will climb stairs, ladders, equipment scaffolding, tanks and heights as required.

 Will enter confined space areas as required.

 Ability to push/pull/lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

 Will use one or both hands to hold, grip, and use tools required for duties, including but

not limited to a utility knife.

 Will hear and talk on an ongoing basis in an atmosphere of moderate and loud noise.

 Will work in and around cold water or hot water up to 185° F.

 Will work in cold, warm, hot, humid and/or wet conditions.

 Will have the ability to operate proficiently in an SAP environment; including but not

limited to using an RF (radio frequency) device, print and place tags, and able to

effectively use a scanner and related portable equipment.

Within the environment that production employees must work, the employee’s physical

condition must be such that the employee can wear:

 Hearing protection.

 Slip resistant footwear.

 Eye protection when required.

 Hand protection when required.

 Head protection.
