Position Summary:

The Consumer Affairs Manager is a key resource to internal and external customers on a day to day basis and crisis management. This position is responsible for leading a team of internal and external reps resolving customer and consumer inquiries and concerns. This position assists in developing and implementing the Food Safety and Quality strategy to ensure the company is an industry leader in Consumer Affairs for Private Label Food & Beverages. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of the TreeHouse internal Consumer Affairs Team (6 full-time direct reports, 3 or 4 contractors)
  • Manage all third party relationships, including the Call Center and the software companies utilized for complaint-case management. 
  • Provide guidance on resolving consumer and customer inquiries and concerns, including leading the resolution when issue escalates beyond individuals ability to resolve.
  • Work cross-functionally to support enterprise-wide initiatives, providing customer data and impute, as needed.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports to internal and external (customer) key stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary contact for Operations Quality and R&D Leads during quality incidents.
  • Regularly interface with product liability insurance company on escalated cases, providing investigation and authorizations for resolution with claimants.
  • Integrate acquired companies as necessary by providing a structured transition outline and support. 
  • Participate in Special Situations (Crisis Management) team as needed.  Facilitate set up of 1-800 # for recalls and report on activity (provide numbers, reports, etc. as needed).
  • Lead continuous improvement projects in key aforementioned areas

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in consumer affairs or like quality role
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to change priorities quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Team oriented with proven leadership skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills to create reports in Excel, PowerPoint, CRM software.
