Job Description:

The Manager, Strategy is a high impact role responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across the company. This role will be aligned around one of Treehouse’s strategic pillars – supporting Division/ Portfolio Strategy. The Strategy Manager will help shape our organic and inorganic growth strategy through market research and analysis, execution on that strategy by partnering cross-functionally. Oversee analysis on information such as market size, category attractiveness, competitive analysis, potential acquisitions, industry trends, and financial and operational performance.

This is a high-visibility role that will offer substantial senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term shareholder value by supporting TreeHouse corporate and functional initiatives related to strategy development, strategic planning and strategy execution.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support development of business unit / functional strategy and strategic plans that deliver against multiyear objectives.
  • Partner with division or functional leadership teams on annual planning, strategic planning and key business analysis
  • Identify emerging industry and marketplace trends; synthesize to key insights and communicate implications to TreeHouse leadership
  • Build relationships across senior and division-level leadership to drive acceptance and adoption of key strategic and analytical priorities
  • Perform deep dive analysis on categories, financials, customers and cost structure, identifying opportunities for growth and/or gaps against current plans or against overall category performance.
  • Oversee the collection of internal and syndicated data to support corporate team on ad-hoc projects, due diligence of potential acquisition targets, 3-year planning process, and opportunity identification
  • Provide content and prepare presentations for core corporate communications (e.g. quarterly earnings call, Board of Directors letter, Investor Relations presentation)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a top tier investment bank in an analyst role, or 2-3 years of experience at a top tier consulting firm, or similar experience in a corporate CPG environment or at a syndicated data provider
  • Experience within CPG/ retail industry and proficient in analyzing market data assets (e.g. IRI/ Nielsen POS), conducting granular and data-driven market analysis, and building financial / analytical models to facilitate analytical problem solving
  • Ability to translate disparate data points into a cohesive set of strategic insights and effectively communicate to cross-functional leadership
  • Experience conducting market / economic / category / customer / analysis and competitive intelligence  
  • Self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Agile learner with high business acumen
  • A proactive style and approach. Willing to question and propose solutions, alternatives and or new ways of doing things
  • Passion for problem solving, making recommendations and driving execution
  • Excellent MS Office, Advanced Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint skills

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Analytic (math, finance, economics, engineering preferred)
