Job Description:

Manages the Supply Chain functions of Planning, Procurement, Scheduling, Warehousing and Transportation, so that plant consistently achieves its target customer service levels with a minimum investment in inventories and distribution costs.  Works as a communication liaison between the plant, and corporate logistics, customer service, manufacturing platform, and related brand and business teams in proactively communicating and/or resolving issues related to service, scheduling and deployment. Develops, implements, and maintains policies to assure the timely flow of materials within working capital guidelines.  All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing occupational safety (OSHA), building and electrical codes, and food safety and food quality (FDA) in addition to environmental safety (EPA) in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 


  • Completes the made-to-order production schedule and works with supply planning to give proper capacity utilization numbers for the plant.
  • Coordinates and monitors the purchasing function in the areas of ingredients, packaging and commodities by assuring continuous supply and manages risk of obsolescence versus supply shortage.
  • Directs all distribution and logistics activities at the plant and dedicated off-site warehouses including managing labor costs and productivity, inventory levels and accuracy, and stocking strategies.  Maintain controls and procedures to ensure optimum use of warehouse locator system to maintain order accuracy and timeliness.
  • Works with plant operations to identify opportunities to improve production cycles in order to maintain inventory control.
  • Directs the traffic function and take appropriate action to ensure that carriers meet TreeHouse requirements.
  • Prepares budgets and controls costs within established standards.
  • Serves as a member of the plant leadership team in support of plant goals.
  • Manages plant supply chain performance against plant goals in safety, quality, CPS, cost, customer service and culture.
  • Identify and document the skills, performance opportunities, learning needs, time and attendance of each direct report and routinely teaches.
  • Responsible for forklift service and use logs in conjunction with maintenance.
  • Support site management and process owners to implement new processes or guidelines, determine improvements, identify and track savings, develop reports, and receive approval when required.
  • Drives continuous improvement through process requirements, identification of improvement opportunities and best practices for site, ensuring alignment with TreeHouse Management Operating Structure. 
  • Assist with training and coaching basic continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Follows and enforces standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA and assures associates are consistently trained in these standards and comply with all requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages Warehouse Associates; is responsible for the general direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Management, a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Five years of supply chain, distribution management, planning or inventory control, or procurement experience in the food or grocery industry
  • Five years supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Competency in English language (read, write, speak); excellent written, oral, and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as FDA, OSHA, and EPA
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
