Job Description:

The Lancaster Ready-to-Eat Cereal Plant, a TreeHouse Private Brands site, is currently looking for a Production Training Manager to join our team.  This is an opportunity to join a recognized and growing company within the food manufacturing industry.  We are offering a competitive compensation package for this position, including benefits (health, vision and dental) and 401(k).

The Production Training Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees through the deployment of effective training initiatives and programs. Plans, develops and implements strategy for training and development, establishes and maintains appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of training and development programs. Engages all employees in continuous improvement/lean initiatives and fosters a positive work environment while developing a culture of ownership and accountability.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assess training needs in consultation with department supervisors and the Continuous Improvement Manager; create and execute learning solutions
  • Design and develop, engaging training programs which provide content necessary to meet training and business needs of the organization
  • Assist in establishing and documenting base operating skills for employees by using the CSD process to effectively and efficiently assimilate all new employees into the plant
  • Review training program evaluations and conduct program effectiveness assessment
  • Collaborate with functional areas across the organization to increase information sharing, performance support and training delivery skills
  • Develop training programs and initiatives that support the site’s lean manufacturing goals
  • Coordinate with other functional managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of training and development, and to ensure they are fully informed of staff training and development objectives, purposes and achievements
  • Oversee Standard Work and Training Checklist development
  • Manage and control expenditures within agreed budgets
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary staff training and development theory and methods and provide interpretation to supervisors and managers within the organization
  • Plan and deliver training courses personally on-site or utilizing CBT
  • Ensure all training activities and materials comply with relevant organizational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws

  • Strong leadership with the ability to influence a wide range of people from the shop floor to senior management
  • Extensive knowledge of learning tools and how they can be applied to business challenges
  • Drives initiatives through to completion on time and on budget – results driven

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)

Minimum Experience Preferred :

  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing related experience with 2-3 years of training delivery required
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and practical experience in manufacturing environment


  • Bachelor’s Degree Required in Operations Management or related field
