Job Description:

Job Summary:

The data governance analyst will be reporting to the Material Master Domain Lead. Responsible for the THS Material Master Data procedures, business data definitions, data validation rules, data standards, and service level agreements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality Measures & Controls – Material Master
    • Provides research, analytical, and reporting support for all Enterprise Data Governance issues, standards, policies, processes, etc.
    • Responsible for maintaining on-going data quality rules and master data definitions.
    • Supports the efforts to identify and correct data anomalies (e.g., assists with data profiling, including data gaps, incorrect usage, data out of range, invalid values, etc.).
    • Participates in data quality reviews and provides feedback.
  • Standards, Policies, & Processes
    • Develop and maintain Material Master Data policies and standards, in conjunction with data owners and data stewards, to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, complete, timely, available, and secure.
    • Provides research, analytical, and reporting support for the Material Master Data Governance issues, standards, policies, processes, etc.
    • Enforce Master Data governance model and processes with all stakeholders to assure timely and accurate master data.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify sources of Material Master Data, validation rules, approval processes and the conversion process for getting data into SAP.
    • Ability to communicate complex Material Master Data ideas and concepts to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical.
    • Work effectively with Business Unit leaders, Data Owners, and Data Stewards to facilitate consensus on data Governance rules, policies, and definitions.
    • Maintain / create Material Master data dictionaries according to the GS1 and industry best practices. Monitor and enforcing ongoing data governance standards.
    • Standardization of Material Master data definitions and business rules.
    • Escalate issues to the Material Master Domain Lead and propose standard best practices along with alternative approaches for new process/standards/requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Data Management Organization, Data Operations and Data Migration to support specific domain processes, identify continuous improvement opportunities and provide hands-on support as required.
    • Communicates security risks and solutions to business partners and IT staff.
    • Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits and system impacts.
    • Drive continuous improvement in the Material Master domain.
  • Security and Controls
    • Responsible for sharing data and material master process implications and risk mitigation proposal.
    • Maintain all appropriate data governance-related records to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Training & Document Repository Management
    • Responsible for development of business process training materials documentation.
    • Responsible for delivery of SOPs, Data Dictionaries, Job Aids etc. for their domain. Responsible for reviewing and approving all enterprise data domain-specific SOPs and training materials.
    • Responsible for ensuring training materials are developed, training is conducted, and knowledge transfer occurs for the Business Data Stewards and the Data Maintainers.
    • Responsible for ensuring master data training plans are in place to transfer critical knowledge to end users and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP Material Master Data Governance
  • Solid understanding of the Material Master process and integration points
  • Ability to work independently
  • Team player
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite
