Job Description:

Position Title:  Maintenance Manager

Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt

Position Purpose: Plan, organize and manage all short term and long term maintenance, and coordinate and match personnel to production schedules and work order skill requirements. Create and manage all maintenance labor and utility budgets. Work with all management to develop, justify, propose, and execute capital projects.

Principal Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain SOP’s to keep the facility ready for customer inspections and well as governmental inspections (AIB, EPA, etc.)

Provide leadership as a member of the management staff to all areas of the production facility.

Insuring the facility’s safety and environmental work is current and compliant.

Manage/coordinate capital projects to improve through-put and profitability, including quotes from vendors and overseeing outside contractors working in the facility.

Responsible for complying with all Food Quality, Food Safety/SQF, and GMP policies and procedures.

Daily / Periodic Tasks

Provide regular feedback to employees and management staff.

Analysis reporting tied to key department metrics.

Ability to drive continuous improvements.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

Monitor capital projects.

Continually update facility drawings to ensure accuracy.

Education and Experience:   

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to effectively convey and follow instructions.

Ability to effectively multi-task, manage time, set schedules, prioritize assignments and maintain accountability.

Self-starter who requires minimal direct supervision, with the ability to obtain necessary information to make decisions.

Strong leadership to effectively work and interact with other providing guidance when necessary.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

Experience

Bachelors Degree Required   Degree in Engineering or related field

Minimum of 3 years experience

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

MS Office.  Proficient use of computer programs and software; Auto CAD,PLC programming and PSM experience would be a plus.

Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.

Experience working with outside contractors.

Project management.

Experience in electrical programming, PLC knowledge, financial analysis of budgets and capital project spending.

Physical Activity / Working Conditions

Position typically divided between office (25%) and production area(s) (75%).

Occasional lifting requirements of up to 50 pounds.
