Job Description:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Assistant will be responsible for recording and tracking daily and weekly reporting metrics for operations, supporting all plant departments with tasks as needed.  Additionally, this position has responsibility to record systematic receipt of crop inventory into an AS/400 ERP system daily, supporting the crop team and plant in providing inventory information on availability of crop for production and crop procurement. 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Accurately and quickly keying and processing plant operating data
  • Printing and distributing key documents
  • Supporting and sustaining key Management Operating Systems (MOS) tracking, including employee recognition program, employee suggestion program, and performance boards
  • Completing systematic receipts of crop inventory in AS/400 or other ERP on a timely and accurate basis
  • Adhering to established GMP’s and SOPs.  Assist in the creation of new policies or procedures as required
  • Participating in projects and Continuous Improvement events as assigned
  • Actively supporting the site’s Health and Safety program by identifying and reporting hazards, including completing all assigned training, and by working safely every day
  • Supporting Quality and Food Safety by identifying and reporting hazards, and by completing all assigned training
  • Cross-training with other employees as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills are essential
  • Strong computer skills includingg knowledge and understanding proficiency with of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel at an Intermediate level, including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • Self-motivated with strong multitasking, analytical thinking, problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively present information in verbal exchanges with various departments

Education:

  High School plus specialized training (min 6mos-2yrs)

  Associate Degree – completed post-secondary education in a relevant field

 

Minimum Experience Preferred (Number of years and type):

  • 2 to 3 years of data-focused or manufacturing clerical work

Travel Requirements:

Less than 10%
