Job Description:


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.

Daily Duties:

  • Communicate daily production schedule to production team
  • Communicate hourly production results with hourly team and supervisor
  • Work on production line 80% of day or more as needed
    • Cover breaks and lunches
    • Learn and trains others on how to run equipment and do checks
  • Fill in open positions as needed based on call off or business needs
  • Complete 5S audits  


  • Communicate effectively/appropriately with team members, supervisors and management team.
  • Communicate throughout shift with supervisor and supply chain managers to receive instructions and exchange production information
  • Develop the expertise level to run all equipment on the line
  • Train employees in standard work practices, procedures for safety, quality, equipment operations, productivity, and efficiency 
  • Help maintain accurate production records and complete all reports as required.
  • Support in continuous improvement events, projects and “just do its”
  • Monitor production levels and report issues to supervisors
  • Assist in assigning work duties based upon work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel 
  • Perform activities of team members covering member absences or breaks
  • Monitor production, release work orders as needed, adjust work assignments, supply of material and machine operation when necessary
  • Maintain area in accordance with 5s and Lean standards to help ensure work areas remain swept, straightened, shiny to achieve operational excellence
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of SAP
  • Complete data computer entry and tracking, perform and prepare various clerical duties for production management (for example - detailed reports, meeting notes and notifications)


  • Interpret safety policies/practices to employees including ensuring safe work practices are followed
  • Perform daily/weekly safety and 5S audits
  • Recommend measures to improve safety, quality of product, methods and equipment performance


  • Ensure product quality by following standard work and communicating customer specific requirements with team members
  • Test random samples of product using various test equipment to verify product meets specifications 
  • Maintain area in accordance with GMP
  • Ensure product quality and sanitation regulations are followed


  • Help troubleshoot and assist employees in diagnosing malfunctions in work and machine activities
  • Adjust and repair various machines using hand tools and power tools and refer extensive machine repairs to maintenance
  • Assist maintenance in maintaining equipment as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma
  • Requires a minimum of three years of progressive work experience, preferably in the food products industry; one year in a TreeHouse production area experience preferred
  • Requires strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft programs such as:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Requires a working knowledge of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF and environmental safety regulations along with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and make fine adjustments in equipment settings
  • Team player, works well with others, and communicates effectively with all associates
  • Requires effective and clear written and oral communication skills fluent in English to clearly communicate with other team members

Work Environment:

The employee works indoors in a production environment.  Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts, and in high places.  He/she will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  There is moderate noise in the work environment.
