Position Overview:

The Quality Systems Technologist is responsible for managing all required manufacturing-compliance-related documentation for the Enterprise.  The Technologist will collaborate with TreeHouse’s technical and non-technical teams, as well as external partners in the areas of compliance (federal, state, GFSI and internal standards) and risk-mitigation (for TreeHouse and its customers). 

In addition, the Technologist will author and assist the Quality Systems Compliance Team to implement procedure standards by providing guidance for issues that are not either clearly specified in regulation, or that must be interpreted in some manner from the manufacturing-compliance perspective.  This work will contribute to the Operational and Commercial Excellence of the broader Food Safety and Quality Team.   

The Technologist will be responsible for helping establish and cultivate a culture of Food Safety and Quality throughout the organization.



Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of emerging issues, from a federal and state regulations perspective, providing regulatory guidance and answer manufacturing compliance-related questions
  • Manage all federal compliance-related documentation requirements (FDA &/or CFIA)
  • Evolve into Subject Matter Expert on regulatory compliance
  • Assist the team in developing programs, training materials and disseminate information, as required to cross-functional teams, as necessary
  • Support the FS&Q Internal Audit Initiative, conducting “desk” and “on-site” audits, as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders on broader Company initiatives.


Supervision:

  • No direct, full-time reports
  • Potential to manage Temporary Employees (including Contractors and/or Interns)


Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills

  • Familiar with food regulations; ability to stay current on regulatory changes
  • Apt in drafting, and implementing and disseminating procedures and regulatory guidance
  • Capable of working cross-functionally within internal technical and non-technical teams
  • Able to learn and work in a variety of databases, proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented, with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required: Food Science, Nutrition or related combination of technical degrees and Food, Regulatory-related experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the food industry, or related industry experience in a federally regulated field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Travel requirements: 40%; ability to travel as needed to meet with internal teams or external partners
