Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Performs all plant cleaning and sanitation activities on all equipment and in all departments following both safety and quality procedures, policies, and rules and in accordance with the standards, regulations and laws governing food safety, food quality and environmental safety regulations and monitors and accurately documents all work completed
  • Executes the sanitation and cleaning plan for daily, weekly and monthly sanitation in all parts of the plant and warehouse as directed by the Quality/Sanitation Team Leader
  • Maintains all appropriate sanitization and cleaning documentation as directed, including the Master Sanitation / Cleaning Schedule
  • As requested, may walk the exterior of the building and adjacent grounds to collect and dispose of any trash and refuse
  • Performs cleaning services in office areas, lunchroom, and restrooms as directed.
  • Supports the implementation and monitoring of all food safety and food quality standards, regulations and laws concerning sanitation and environmental safety regulations and notifies the Sanitation Team Leader of any concerns or opportunities for improvement
  • Assists production with packaging, palletizing and other duties, as needed
  • Keeps work environment clean, safe and positive
  • Primary focus of all business related efforts are and must remain that of promoting excellence in all products
  • Present a good and positive business image in every aspect of your professional daily business
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Requires a minimum of six months of work experience in sanitation or janitorial services
  • Requires a working knowledge of food safety and food quality standards and regulations and environmental safety regulations
  • Requires effective and clear written and oral communication skills in the English language to clearly communicate with other team members
  • Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Requires teamwork ability and a positive attitude
  • Requires the ability to handle and operate motorized equipment for cleaning purposes.

Work Environment

The employee works both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.  Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts, and in high places.  He/she will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  There is moderate noise in the work environment.
