Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Capital Sourcing – Sees the big picture and collaborates with Operations and Engineering to establish commercial/capital goals that support the overall business strategy. This role is forward thinking to anticipate the future state of operations and develop purchasing  based options that drive top and bottom line growth. The successful candidate will create a teach and trust environment that pushes capital project team members to go beyond their own expectations relative to engaging cross functional partners. Constructively challenge and actively engage stakeholders, through open positive debate in order to continuously improve Supply Chain metrics. Provide collaborative commercial leadership and advice to peer TMOS, R&D, EH&S, Operations, Risk Management and Sales/Marketing leaders. Responsible for capital procurement activities across all plants and divisions within our network and serves as enterprise discipline expert.
 

Position Responsibilities:

• Purchasing/Commercial services and support of all operation plants.
• Find cost reduction opportunities and business vulnerabilities and develop into well-defined purchasing strategies for capital projects for presentation to management in the capital planning sequence. (Ensure long-term viability of business.)
• Negotiate supplier contracts.
• Interface with the law department on contractual issues.
• Provide all necessary process documentation, specifications, etc., for consistent continuity of purchasing operations for capital and some MRO at the manufacturing locations. (This includes changes to tooling, etc., to improve processes.)
• Control capital costs through effective leveraged purchasing.
• Supplier Management as it relates to resolution of commercial disputes and resolving legal claims.
• Personnel/team development, building cross-functional relationships.
• Lead equipment and services supplier selection from a commercial and strategic perspective.
• Project equipment expediting and schedule adherence of deliveries through installation/start-up.
• Training on policies and procedures.
• Continuously optimize processes.  Simplify/streamline where appropriate.
• Support facilities with operations or equipment maintenance contracted resources as needed.
• Support ERP implementation and utilization.
• Adherence to all policies and corporate governance.
• Work with the Reliability and Maintenance function to optimize spare parts inventories and proactively match preferred suppliers on capital projects.
• Develop and maintain a supplier stratification program.
• Build/maintain a supplier scorecard system.
• Measure and report key department performance metrics.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be well motivated, self-starter with a broad and full understanding of the base businesses who can concentrate on the items that will affect the most positive changes within the company.
• Must have strong business acumen and the ability to translate contract terms and conditions into team behavior modification.
• Demonstrated leadership within the position and people
• 5+ years related experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Business, supply chain, engineering, or related fields
