Position Summary:

The Sr. Principal Engineer—Tech Services will be accountable for being recognized as a leader, demonstrating and enhancing SME Skill Set(s) (Subject Matter Expert) to technical peers within technical situations to throughout all phases of a project including Operation/Production Optimization. Recognized within the organization as a Thought and Servant Leader, the Sr. Principal Engineer—Tech Services will initiate technical leadership to identify and develop key strategies, programs or projects that delivers the highest value business benefit to the company.  Ability to communicate and lead within all levels of the organization, including cross functional teams is a fundamental skill set for this position.    

Position Responsibilities:

• Self –starter and known for bringing ideas forward
• Continuous Improvement of governance for key strategies / programs across the enterprise (includes development and roll out of new)
• Leverage subject matter expertise in assigned areas to drive continuous improvement, standardization, and technology.
• Keeps current and mentors to latest industry regulations and codes relative to equipment system design and operation
• Provides in depth review of technical and economic feasibility analysis to other groups within THS that are focused on improvements to the current state  that deliver competitive advantages
• Estimates include, but are not limited to :
  • Technology assessment and recommended solutions
  • Physical location and general arrangement placements (drawing level)
  • Infrastructure requirements and needs assessment
  • Preliminary Capital / Expense Estimates
  • Work with the Engineering Project Team to determine a design schedule that meets that overall project schedule requirements.
  • Equipment / System Performance criteria
  • Identification of Alternatives, Pre-requisites, Risks, and Opportunities
  • Write detailed functional control descriptions for the unit operations and processing systems recommended by the Engineer.
• Keeps current and mentors implementation of the latest technology and commercial applications
• Leads/Co Leads Performance Start Up protocols - FATs, SATs & CQVs

• Factory Acceptance Tests
• Site Acceptance Tests
• Commission & Qualify & Verify

Qualifications and Requirements:

• BS Degree in Engineering
• 12 plus years in Food Manufacturing Design
• Proven thought and servant leadership qualities, verbal and written communication skills, as well as technical analysis and problem solving skills are required.
• Pro-active in team development which includes partners from R&D and Continuous Improvement Teams to drive improved performance, cost & or Quality
• Continuous Improvement mindset, to challenge current processes both internally and externally with ability to bring adaptable solutions forward

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Engineering (SME Area of Focus Preferred: Enter SME Requirement Here--IE Programming)

Certification/Licensure/Designation Required for Job: Continued skills training required
