SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing leadership to and management of the Receiving Department, Distribution Center and Recycling Center. 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
 

• Plan activities and processes to maximize picking and loading of internal customer orders.

• Coach subordinates and employees on care and preservation of items received, stored and shipped and methods and use of equipment in handling, storing and related problems.

• Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.

• Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.

• Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of employees.

• Maintain CHEP inventory and review and approve invoices.

• Recommend measures to improve warehousing methods and performance while adhering to company budget and financial metrics.
   
• Direct responsibility to communicate and implement effective work schedules for all warehouse activities to ensure optimum operating results, timely inbound receiving to maximize order fill-rate and the timely shipment of customer orders to meet requested delivery date.

• Directly responsible to enforce established programs and procedures designed to achieve operating metric goals in the areas of customer service, productivity, safety, sanitation, inventory control and product damage.
   
• Guides, coaches and develops employees in a team environment that rewards performance with respect and trust. Administer discipline, corrective action and coaching as needed.
   
• Formulate and recommend improvements and changes within the operation to assist the Warehouse Team attain of all operational goals and standards.
   
• Drive and facilitate continuous improvement projects and assignments including but not limited to Kaizen Events.
   
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 40 to 50 employees in the Receiving Center, 40 to 50 employees in the Distribution Center and 4 recycling center employees.
Manage Contracts and relationship with vendors (Forklift Equipment, Truck Driving Service).
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree and demonstrated ability to lead with a minimum of 5 to 7 years related experience.
 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with groups of employees.
 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, measures, add, subtract and divide.
 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
