Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the picking and loading of customer orders for both customer pickups (CPU’s) and TreeHouse Foods contract carriers.
  • Coach and train employees on care and preservation of items stored, how they’re shipped and how to safely operate all warehouse equipment.
  • Complete research to recommend improvements in procedures and processes.
  • Review records to help ensure accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
  • Trace history of finished goods production and/or sales to determine reasons for product discrepancies.
  • Create work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow when appropriate.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of work output.
  • Responsible for maintaining harmony among DC employees and help resolve problems as soon as they’re known.
  • Demand positive attitude and superior customer service from subordinates towards internal and external customers alike.
  • Have ability to multi-task and prioritize workload throughout each day.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records for Logistics Manager and other TreeHouse Foods Departments.
  • Train employees on the use of the warehouse management system including computers, scanners and printers
  • Troubleshoots problems and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervises 10 to 15 employees in the Distribution Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Employee must have knowledge of Analytical and Sensory Testing, Good Manufacturing Practices, Environmental Monitoring, Chemical Handling, Audits, and Inspections. 
  • Must possess the ability to coach and train on Food Safety related programs.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation in food manufacturing is desired.
  • Competent computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP, are preferred; and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Must be self-starting. Strategic agility and process management skills needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace, multitask environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and decision-making abilities combined with excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Effective listener and team player.
  • Must be flexible for adjusting work schedule based on business needs. Some weekend work required.
  • Able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead multiple projects. 
  • This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.

  • Must be able to work with and to support other departments: Production, QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, R & D, Procurement, etc.
  • Analyze complex information and perform root cause analysis
  • Effectively manage time, including the ability to prioritize, work within assigned deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively to accomplish organizational objectives
  • Mathematical skills:  Good understanding of basis business math skills (i.e., can add, subtract, divide and have ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights and cubic measurements.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining quality & accuracy standards
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook on an Advanced Level
  • SAP knowledge on an intermediate to advanced level
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
